Selines Sanchez is pursuing her master’s degree in English at St. John’s University in Queens, New York City. She received her BA in English with a minor in creative writing from St. John’s in 2021. Currently, she serves as a graduate assistant for the English department and LGBTQ+ Center while assisting department professors with scholarly research.

During her free time, Selines writes articles for magazines and news blogs as a freelancer. Her master’s thesis, “Limpiar La Raza: Island vs. Dominican Representations of Race,” is set to be published at the end of May 2022.
