A new fully online master of business administration (MBA) program will prepare students who are also working professionals for a career in product management for a maximum of $16,500.
Colorado State University Global (CSU Global) announced its new MBA in product management on Jan. 9. That online program is built for working professionals, and it can be completed in 20 months or less for a maximum of $16,500, according to the CSU Global press release.
An MBA typically infuses leadership training with business fundamentals, and more specialized MBA programs — like CSU Global’s new product management-specific MBA — aim to prepare students for career advancement in their respective fields.
“We are thrilled to offer this new iteration of our MBA program, which is intended to facilitate workplace and personal success for our students and professionals, preparing them to advance in today’s evolving business environment,” CSU Global President Becky Takeda-Tinker said in the release.
Product managers are in high demand, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projecting that employment of project management specialists will grow faster than the average rate for all occupations from 2022-2032. Median pay for product managers in 2022 was $95,370 per year, according to the BLS.
An MBA in product management, although not a hard requirement for a career in the field, can prepare students to maximize their career prospects in that growing field. An MBA can lead to career advancement, better earnings, and a hefty return on investment for graduates.
The CSU Global product management MBA will include instruction on a host of relevant topics to the field, from product design to branding and supply chain management, preparing graduates to work across a wide variety of industries.
The average total cost of an MBA program is about $27,600 a year, or around $55,200 for a full two-year program, according to BestColleges. Part-time, online programs typically cost $14,500 a year on average. That makes CSU Global’s MBA program, which costs a maximum of $16,500 for 20 months or less, a more affordable option for working professionals.
CSU Global Provost Audra Spicer said the new program, which will begin classes March 18, “equips students with a well-rounded skill set, enabling CSU Global graduates to stand out in the job market, all through a 100% online learning environment that adapts to their needs.”
Applications are now open for the program. CSU Global does not require the Graduate Record Examinations General Test (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), according to the release.
